Hi, my name is Ryan Finley
and I accidentally became an artist.
I always enjoyed drawing and painting, but growing up, I was under the impression that you either had to be really crazy or really famous (bonus points for being both) in order to be a full-time artist.
But one rainy Tuesday in December of 2019, I painted a few pictures of family dogs on printer paper and posted them on Facebook, asking if anyone else wanted me to paint their pet for fifteen bucks.
Since then, people haven’t stopped asking me to make things.
People have requested all sorts of commissions, from homes to portraits to murals on walls of businesses. I’ve been pushed to create works my younger self wouldn’t have dreamed I was capable of, and now creating art is both my passion and career.
In December 2022, I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a major in visual communications and a minor in business administration. I love making a cocktail of vintage-inspired, eclectic, and contemporary work that feels both fresh and familiar. I’m constantly striving to be moldable and improve my craft everyday.
First and foremost, I love people. I understand often times, the people who come to me have never purchased original or custom art before, and the fact I get to play a role in that process is an honor I don‘t take for granted. I aim to bring light to clients’ visions, goals, and passions, and I want to build relationships just as much as I want to create art. Faith plays a key role in the inspiration behind my work. There is nothing more precious to me than the fact that we are created by the Creator to create.
